What Does HERS Mean?

HERS Index (Home Energy Rating System)
The HERS Index is used to measure a home’s energy efficiency. Tests are performed measuring thermal efficiency to calculate a home’s index score. The lower your home’s HERS Index, the more energy efficient it is.

Power savings and energy efficiency are essential practices to ensure environmental and economic stability. Responsible persons need to be mindful of the national and global consequences of energy conservation in order to preserve the environment and our energy resources for ourselves and future generations. I would like to be a contestant because I am interested and concerned about enviromnental and economic issues as they relate to power savings. I would like to become better at saving power. I would like to encourage others to do what they can on a daily basis to make a difference in the world by saving power.
